Norwegian ski star Jan Thomas Jenssen29, undergoing surgery. The Norwegian Ski Association announced the setback on Monday.
Jenssen crashed on Saturday as he warmed up the international roller skiing competition in the Toppidretsveka sprint race. He was unable to participate in the sprint qualifying.
Studies revealed a fracture in the wrist boat.
– The fracture of the boat requires surgery. Jan Thomas will be cut on Thursday, August 28, Norwegian Ski Team doctor Ove Farage says in the bulletin.
After surgery, Jenssen starts rehabilitation and alternative training. Injury is unfortunate, as the main goal of the season, or the Winter Olympics, is less than half a year. The World Cup season begins in Kuusamo in late November.
Jenssen has skied 15 times in the World Cup in the top ten in his career. He has one personal winnings and a total of five prize balls. He was third in the 2023-2024 Tour de Skin.
Jenssen was fourth in last season’s World Cup combination competition. He was 0.1 seconds of the World Championship medal and 1.5 seconds from the World Championship.
