Franziska Preuss looks back on the most successful winter of her previous biathlon career. In the coming season, the reigning overall World Cup winner wants to fulfill a big dream.
“I am very grateful that I was able to experience such a winter,” Franziska Preuß looked back over the biathlon season 2024/25 compared to the “BR”.
In February, the 31-year-old crowned the world champion in the persecution in Lenzerheide. A month later, Preuss won the large crystal ball in the World Cup in a dramatic season finale.
Prussia gives German biathlon fans hope
The DSV athlete is currently preparing for the coming season. She was “just as motivated” and “sharply to get better”, Preuss gave the German biathlon fans hope for further big moments.
“My wish is to have normal preparation and a normal winter again to the Olympic Games,” said the ski hunter. Prussia was repeatedly slowed down by diseases during her biathlon career.
Preuss hopes for the Olympic success
The reigning overall World Cup winner also hopes to be in top form at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (February 6th to 22nd). “I know that you need a lot of luck on certain days. I hope that happiness is on my side and the shape is there,” Preuss looked ahead.
The two-time biathlon world champion won the bronze medal at the 2022 Olympics with the German season. Apart from that, Preuss is still waiting for precious metal in winter games. If the 31-year-old reaches her form of last winter, she will be one of the big favorites in Italy.
Preuss had indicated in the past that the 2025/26 Olympic Season could be the last in its successful biathlon career. But that is not yet certain.
