The football players of PSV lost 3-2 to FC Twente on Saturday afternoon in a spectacular match for the Supercup. FC Twente managed to make up for two goals in fifteen minutes and still beat PSV 3-2.
The Duel for the Supercup is traditionally between the champion and the cup winner of the previous season. Because Twente won both, PSV, as number two of the competition and losing finalist in the cup final, was the opponent.
In this game PSV seemed to be pulling the longest, but it was Twente again that the prize ran away. The Supercup has been played since 2022 and all the time won Twente.
Better opportunities for PSV
In the first half were the better chances for PSV. Renate Jansen was threatening and Nina Nijstad was able to play freely. After more than half an hour, Lore Jacobs PSV gave the lead. The Belgian attacker completed Chimera Ripa, after clumsy defending of FC Twente.
After the break, FC Twente insisted, but it was PSV again that scored. Sisca Folkertsma, who played three seasons for Twente, headed after a corner.
FC Twente seemed beaten, but then scored three times within thirteen minutes. Eva Oude Elberink reduced the backlog in the 67th minute and Jaimy Ravensbergen made it right from the penalty spot. Substitute Nikée van Dijk scored the winning goal in the 79th minute.
