You could get lost between the peat and the turf huts, the Veenpark is that great. Yet the Museum Village no longer has any secrets for Herman Arling. In one of the largest open -air museums in the Netherlands, he has been active as a volunteer for almost fifty years. But that pleasant time unintentionally comes to an end.
The park is bankrupt. That bankruptcy is not due to the volunteers who take care of the site to perfection. The situation visibly seizes the situation. “It’s really a shame,” he mourns.
Sitting in a garden chair, the loyal work ant looks back at the shock moment. Unsuspectingly, he turned on the television in the morning, not knowing what bad message would be communicated to him.
