Art Rooijakkers has resigned as a presenter of News of the Day, but may – probably against a hefty salary discount – stay with Talpa. “This can cost Jan Versteegh a lot of odd jobs.”

After a few weeks of radio silence, the high word came out yesterday: Art Rooijakkers leaves just like Malou Petter at the right-wing TV news of SBS 6. Why his status of news of the day was uncertain for so long? According to TV connoisseurs, there was negotiation behind the scenes about his contract, because ART cannot afford a Talpa exit.

Chapeau

Art has a family to maintain, has burned all the ships behind him through his Talpa transfer and cannot return from three tons a year to nothing. Fortunately, he can stay by John de Mol to do other things, although according to former SSS boss Tina Nijkamp he will have had to take a salary discount.

She writes on her analysis canal: “The real winner of this hassle is Art himself and especially his manager. In the last few days it appears that there has been a good deal of negotiations. Art may stay. So. What a good manager has art. Chapeau. By whom I think that is ???? Robin Goudsmit he is called. Is known as a tough negotiator.”

One tons

How much has Art has to hand in? “So as a star you have a manager for this. For these types of issues. Art gets his way, perhaps only one of the few tons must probably return but may remain. The mortgage can continue to be paid.”

It is bitter for Malou Petter, who is not on the street with anything, says Tina. “Art presented only eleven broadcasts from 6 January to 3 February. From 2 June he was back and presented only 13 (!!!!) broadcasts until now. In total he only presented 24 (!!!) broadcasts (of the total of 160).”

Not loyal

Malou has done much more, but is now unemployed. “It feels a bit unfair to Malou in terms of loyalty. She did present a lot of broadcasts, but that’s how you see: she probably doesn’t walk out of the door with anything (because herself canceled), Art can just stay. That is also the TV world.”

“Shockingly though. 24 broadcasts but. Especially from his return almost no longer. Thirteen in 2.5 months !! That is called very easy to earn.”

Bad for Jan

Art says he will make an adventurous reality show. And that is ‘bad news’ for two of his SBS colleagues, Tina thinks. “This means perhaps less large jobs for Jan Versteegh and Dennis van der Geest. In terms of genre, they are in the same pond as Art, namely Adventure-Reality-like.”

Media journalist Mark Koster would certainly not miss Jan. He slaughtered in his Telegraaf-Column His TV show Let’s Play Ball Af: “Jan Versteegh lives from talking to each other of this kind of infantility, but I argue for doing it with AI. His soulless, uninterested appearance-he had no idea where he was in Friesland-is not even an act.”
