Alassane Pléa cannot take action for PSV for a long time. The 32-year-old attacker sustained a serious injury in the away match against FC Twente last Sunday, in which the cartilage in his knee is damaged. He no longer comes into action this calendar year and also misses part of the second half of the competition.
Pléa sustained the injury after a sliding by FC Twente defender Robin Pröpper. The attacker immediately had a lot of pain and had to leave the field. He will be operated on later this week.
“This is a very annoying outcome, above all for Alassane and of course also for PSV,” says football affairs director Earnest Stewart. “We wish Alassane the very best and will assist him as well as possible in his rehabilitation process.”
The Frenchman was taken over from the German Borussia Mönchengladbach last summer. He signed a contract until the summer of 2028. Because of his serious injury, PSV is now considering possibilities on the transfer market for (temporarily) strengthening the rush -hour position.
