Do you love G-forces? Then you have to go to the Drouwenerzand amusement park, because the attraction XLR8 (‘Accelerate’) disappears from the park after ten years. Drouwenerzand has put the attraction for sale.

The reason: the manufacturer increases the minimum entry length from 1.20 meters to 1.40 meters. And that does not fit with the target group of the park, says owner Kevin Moespot.

“We are a park for young children, not a Walibi,” Moespot explains. “Our visitors are mainly up to about 14 years old. We want to keep it that way. Of course, older children can join the family, but young children stay the core.”

Due to the new length requirement, the park fears that the XLR8 Soon it will only be suitable for older children.

And so the device has to leave with eight rotating arms. “He is really going fast,” says Moespot laughing. “It is also a big thing, a kind of exaggerated merry -go -round. You don’t get me in it, but children love it.”

Moreover, according to Hofstede, the attraction is unique in its kind. “There is only one of the whole world. And he also comes from Dutch soil,” says Moespot.
