Yesterday evening, the blue and white sound of Finland was silent.

Katri Helena, a hit singer, ended her 62 years and her four-month career for the sold-out Helsinki Olympic Stadium on the eve of her 80th birthday.

42,000 people proved how decades of work were linked to books and covers. Katri Helena could not have decided on her career in any other way.

In less than two hours, the stadium heard the most important and relevant songs of Katri Helena’s career. There were Christmas carols as well as evergreens about summer carols, not forgetting love and its stingy feelings, and friendship and nature. The accompaniment was carried out by Leri Leskinen’s Grand Orchestra, 20.

Katri himself sense the distress of herself, but also how charged and prepared. The nature of the 80-year-old artist exudes the experience. I can say with the heart that I have never seen the same thing on Saturday at the stadium.

The stadium audience welcomed Katri Helena’s songs as well as the intermediate spikes with great respect, that is, just as it should. Sometimes the artist seemed to have even been surprised at how big the applause of the audience showed their career to the ending artist and how they really knew the words of each paragraph. This is no wonder when talking about Katri Helena.

During the gig, Katri Helena remembered her travels around the world and where the different songs were made. Paula Vesala, who was responsible for the manuscript and directing of the concert, told Iltalehti earlier that the artist’s own wish was that the gig would not be too giggling. Vesala had gone through the video archives of YLE and MTV for the concert, and he noticed.

For several minutes, the gig saw footage, which stapled the mood together and emphasized the importance of the evening.
