Mohamed ihattaren (23) moves on to Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands. The once-traded, but also deeply fallen former top talent comes from the RKC Waalwijk and signs a contract for a season with an option for another year. The transfer is seen as an anticipation of an exit of the ex-HSVer Alen Halilovic (29), which is to be sold for his expiring contract next summer.

“At RKC Waalwijk, I got the chance to find football again, at Fortuna I now have the opportunity to take the next step,” said Ihattaren, who was worth 22 million euros in 2016. He is currently being estimated at a million euros. “The conversations with the trainer were very good and convinced me that this is the right step, also because I wanted to stay in the Netherlands. The fans can assume that I will give everything for this club. We will make a nice adventure together.”

Ihattaren, former player from PSV Eindhoven and Ajax Amsterdam, among others, experienced a strong comeback at the RKC, where he scored four goals and five templates in 27 Eredivisie games. After the descent into the 2nd league, the 23-year-old did not want to stay. Fortuna Sittard, who is reported to pay a transfer of 100,000 euros, is the eighth association Ihattarens, which was also active for Juventus, Sampdoria and Slavia Prague, for which he did not play a competitive game. His adventures abroad were unsuccessful – in the meantime he was considered to be undermined and was also unavailable for the now deceased star consultant Mino Raiola – before he got his career in the Netherlands again.
