Sabrina Carpenter continues to meet her greatest dreams. The singer has just been announced as the only feature act on Taylor Swift’s newly announced album “The Life of a Showgirl”. And of course she freaks out completely.

From fan to a duet partner

“I know someone who is completely crazy, and I am,” wrote Carpenter in her Instagram story in which she shared the news.

A feature on Swift’s 12th album would be a milestone for every artist. But it is particularly important for Carpenter because it has been worshiping Swift for years. “I keep her at a completely different level,” she told Rolling Stone in 2024. “I could never compare my life, my career, my career with what she has achieved.” As early as 2009, when Carpenter began to upload YouTube cover, she passionately performed Swift’s song “Picture to Burn”.

In 2023, her dream became a reality when she appeared as an opening act on Swift’s Triumphaler Eras Tour. “I was just as obsessed with her as everyone else,” said Carpenter at the time. “It is so strange when you as two young women hang together. Instead of just thinking about how she goes on stage and this person is.”

Common stage moments and new music

In autumn 2024, the two were on stage again when Carpenter appeared in New Orleans during the Surprise song set. You played a mash-up of Carpenter’s hit “Espresso”, Swift’s “Is it over now?” and the short-‘n sweet track “Please please please”. After the show, Swift raved on Instagram: “It is as real as you can be, and I am so grateful that she did it for us.”

The feature is the first musical cooperation between the two and comes for a perfect time for Carpenter. On August 29, she released her seventh studio album “Man’s Best Friend”.
