Did the “complaint arm”, which, especially thanks to Manuel new, have had dubious celebrity? The new semi -automatic offside technology in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga should contribute to this.
There are a few gestures in football that have a fairly high nerve factor. For example, many professionals such as national team captain Joshua Kimmich raise a hand in front of a corner kick. However, this very often does not follow a recognizably rehearsed variant, but also a cross at the shin height of the first defender.
Badstübner has a little hope
The so-called complaint arm, which can already be described as a reflex in Neuer, is similarly dispensable: If a goal falls, the Bayern icon lifts its arm in order to remember the topic as a precaution. This has not changed since the VAR has been available and every goal is checked for its correctness anyway.
But now there is hope, at least among the referees. Bundesliga and FIFA referee Florian Badstübner releases the semi-automatic offside technology, which is introduced from the upcoming season in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, to the assessment that something could change in the behavior of the professionals: “Maybe we actually make it that the goalkeepers no longer raise their arm”said at a media appointment at DFB Schiri GmbH in Frankfurt/Main, but he had to smile himself.
“With this system just faster”
The 34-year-old from Windsbach thus addressed a book gesture that is extremely popular with professionals. The fact is that the technical innovation becomes even more sophisticated when checking potential offside positions in gates. “With this system we are just faster”said Knut Kircher, managing director of Schiri GmbH at the German Football Association.
Ansgar Schwenken, director of the game and fans at the German Football League, speaks of a clear simplification: “As soon as there is a possible offside position, the system is already creating a proposal for the video assistant. He can then check that again.” Hence the term “semi -automatic” – the VAR checks the virtual offside line and passes on its judgment to the referee.
The new is called the new one Offside technology
The semi-automatic offside technology in the technical jargon is called semi-automated offside technology (saot). The detection is based on data that records high -resolution special cameras in the stadiums. They are able to track the movements of the players and the ball in real time. Artificial intelligence analyzes this data in order to calculate the exact positions of the players and the ball, according to the DFB.
The results of the offside recognition are graphically presented in an animation in the television signal. DFB and DFL want to “Use very transparent”. Swivel added: “The referee will not decide against the attacker in total doubts.” The DFL did not provide any information about the costs. They are manageable and are worn by the Bundesliga clubs.
