The 1. FC Köln made the commitment of Cenk Özkacar from FC Valencia perfect. The Turkish international (nine missions) comes to the FC on a loan, and the billy goats also secured a purchase option for the central defender. The 24-year-old will start training next week.
“With Cenk, as planned, we get a left foot for our central defense, which will increase the level in this position as well as the competition,” said sports director Thomas Kessler. The Turk brings footballing quality, strong duel management and athletics. He is tactically clever. Kessler says: “Even if the past season has not been optimal for him, we are convinced that he has the necessary ambition and mentality that we need for the upcoming challenges.”
Lukas Kwasniok confirmed the interest of 1. FC Köln in Raphael Obermair on Friday. The full -back and captain of SC Paderborn can be used defensively on both wings and offensive. The billy goats agree with the player, but the ex-club of today’s FC trainer still blocks.
“It is the case that I don’t want to say anything about some personal details. With this personnel, however, it is the case that there is a strong interest on our part,” said Kwasniok. “The player is 29 years old and it would be nice if you would give him the opportunity to show what he has in the Bundesliga. It will be shown whether that comes about.”
