The three-time soccer player Lewis Holtby continues his career in the Netherlands. The Eredivisie Club Nac Breda announced the commitment of the former captain of Holstein Kiel on Monday. The 34 -year -old midfielder comes free of charge and receives a contract until 2027. For the native of Erkelenzer, it is the tenth club of his professional career.

Holtby announced his farewell from Kiel in spring. The leader wanted to crown his time on the fjord with relegation – this failed. In his career, the veteran played 225 Bundesliga games and 137 games in the 2nd Bundesliga, 38 in the Premier League and 21 in the Europa League. In addition to Kiel, stations included Hamburger SV, Schalke 04, Tottenham Hotspur and FSV Mainz 05.
