On August 8, the international marketplace for residues of the Spanish re-commerce start-ups will close. After this date it will no longer be possible to buy or sell materials on the platform. The company announced this in a newsletter.

“This decision was not easy for us, and we are very grateful for your trust and support in building a more circular fashion industry,” it continues.

In 2021, Recovo was founded by Mónica Rodriguez in Barcelona with the idea of preserving residues from their destruction and offering new solutions for more circular economy and resource conservation to the fashion industry. Mango also supported Recovo as part of an acceleration program for start-ups in Spain. Recovo was represented in 15 markets, with Spain being the main market, followed by France.

However, only the marketplace is closed. The company wants to continue to work in the area of sustainable transformation of the fashion industry-but on the IT page. The newsletter continues: “Recovo is now developing into a SaaS platform with a focus on recommERCE, repairs and reuse, which helps brands to reduce their environmental pollution on a large scale.”
