There was no reunion between Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son on Thursday. A day later, the Bayern star addressed warm words to his friend.
They formed a dynamic duo in the Premier League for years and put numerous hits mutually: Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son shaped an era at Tottenham Hotspur. But then the Englishman said goodbye to FC Bayern to Munich in 2023, winning his first title at club level with the winning of the German championship. Son stayed with the “Spurs” – and won the Europa League with the Londoners as captain last season.
On Thursday, the Munich Tottenham welcomed the alliance Arena. The German record champion prevailed 4-0 in the preparatory game. Kane scored for the lead, but shortly afterwards also missed a penalty. Meanwhile, there was no reunion with his long -time storm colleague.
The reason: After ten years and 333 league games with 127 goals, Heung-Min has now left Son Tottenham. The South Korean joined the US club Los Angeles FC. The deal was officially announced on Thursday.
“How do I find the right words for it? I don’t know. I thought about it for days. It is impossible,” Son wrote on the Instagram platform for his departure and emphasized: “I put my heart and soul into this club, which makes this decision the hardest of my life.”
One day after the game of Bayern against Tottenham, in which Son was no longer on the field for the English, Harry Kane now also commented on the change of his friend to Major League Soccer. On Instagram, the Bayern star turned to the 33-year-old with emotional words.
“Sonny Sonny Sonny. What should I say? We have experienced so many magical moments together over the years,” the striker wrote about several photos of him and son from her time at Tottenham. “As a person and as a player, you deserve all the success you had. You are one of the best people in this sport,” Kane continued.
It made him happy to see how Son kept the Europa League Cup up last season. “And I am sure that you will continue to be successful in the future. See you soon”, Kane concluded his message and provided it with a red heart emoji.
