The American textile group Hanesbrand Inc. presented surprisingly strong results for the second quarter of the 2025 financial year on Thursday. In view of the positive development, the company set higher goals for the year as a whole.

In the past quarter, which was completed on June 28, the group sales from continued business areas were $ 991.3 million (851.4 million euros). He thus exceeded the corresponding level of previous year by 1.8 percent.

Thanks to a higher gross margin and extensive cost reductions, the company achieved an operational profit of $ 154.7 million. In the previous year, the group had to accept a loss of $ 63.2 million. Adjusted for special effects, operational profit rose by 22.4 percent to $ 153.5 million.

The group increases its annual forecasts

The designated net profit was $ 81.6 million (70.1 million euros) after a shortfall of $ 298.4 million had been recorded in the same period in the previous year. Adjusted for special effects, the net profit from continued business areas rose by $ 84.3 million.

In view of the strong quarterly figures, which were clearly above the latest forecasts, management increased its annual goals. The forecast for annual sales, which was previously 3.47 to 3.52 billion US dollars, has been raised to $ 3.53 million. The goal for the operational profit from continued business areas is now $ 471 million. Previously, $ 425 to $ 440 million had been expected.
