National player Kai Havertz had to skip a test game of his Arsenal FC due to complaints. In the 2: 3 (1: 2) in the Emirates stage against the Spanish first division club FC Villarreal, the 26-year-old was not in the squad.

The Gunners did not provide an explanation at first, even team manager Mikel Arteta did not want to reveal any details about a possible injury after the final whistle.

“Yesterday in training he felt something and this morning he was not doing very well,” Arteta was quoted by English media. “That’s why we decided to protect him. I think it will only take a few days, hopefully until the weekend, when everything goes according to plan, then it will be fit again.”

Havertz had previously stood in the starting eleven in all three test games of the season preparation. On Wednesday, newcomer Victor Gyökeres celebrated his starting eleven debut, but remained without a goal participation.
