The basketball Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt and Managing Director Thomas Sulzer are now going separate paths.

“The contract of the previous managing director will be dissolved at his request and ends on August 8,” wrote the club on Wednesday. Sulzer was promoted to the managing director in July 2024.

“I would have loved to continue to help the future of the Skyliners. But sometimes you have to admit that it doesn’t fit,” said Sulzer: “So the contract is ended.

According to “Bild” and “Hessenschau”, Sulzer’s relationship with the managing partner Gunnar Wöbke was difficult. “Regardless of some disagreements, we lose a great person with him,” said Wöbke in the press release.

Gleim confirmed as the successor

As managing director of Sport, Sebastian Gleim is now responsible for the professional team of the Frankfurter. In March he signed a three -year contract.

From 2019 to 2021, the 40-year-old coached the Hesse in the Bundesliga and became Gordon Herbert for the first time in 2023 with the German national team.

In the past season, the Skyliners ended the league in 16th place as a promoted place. In the BBL Cup, the trip went to the final Four.
