Ulli Potofski was one of the most famous sports journalists in Germany. However, he started his career in a completely different field.

Reporter veteran Ulli Potofski died at the age of 73 after a short serious illness. With him, the German sports television loses one of his most famous faces that shaped the TV landscape since the 1980s.

However, what hardly anyone knows: At first Potofski had a completely different career in mind. Because at the end of the 1960s he first tried as a pop singer.

In 1969 he published the single “I cannot pass any girl” under the artist name “Ulli Mario”. The title “If all dreams were truth” was heard on the B-side of the plate.

In the 1970s, Potofski finally appeared as a puppeteer and as a disc jockey before finally devoting himself to sports journalism. In 1994 he celebrated his music comeback again when he appeared with the group “All for everyone” in the ZDF hit parade.
