The second division season by Steffen Tigges with the 1st FC Köln was characterized by short stakes and foollessness. Now the 27 -year -old striker can probably show himself again in the lower house. According to information from the TV broadcaster “Sky” and the “Geissblog”, the native Osnabrücker stands in front of the departure from the Rhine and a firm switch to SC Paderborn. His contract with FC is only valid for a year until 2026.
Tigges had already said goodbye to the Cologne team. He has been in agreement with the ex-club of FC coach Lukas Kwasniok for a long time. A departure from Cologne was also expected last winter when Tigges seemed largely deregistered under the penultimate coach of the Domstadt, Gerhard Struber. Finally no longer a role in the team, however, he only played in the promotion final under interim coach Friedhelm Funkel.
The former Dortmund had shown a torriach in Cologne, especially during his first months. In 2022/23, Tigges scored six goals in the Bundesliga and Conference League from September to January. In the season, however, only one more goal followed and again three in the following season in the upper house. He had his strongest goal yield with the second team of BVB in the Regionalliga West, where he was 22 goals and 15 assists in 2020/21.
In Paderborn, the staff in the storm center currently consists of a veteran, Adriano Grimaldi (33), and a young professional, new signing Stefano Marino (21). Most goals of the past second division season contributed to the SCP wing striker Filip Bilbija (25). Two center forward, Youngster Ilyas viewed (20, Union Berlin) and reservist Felix Platte (29, without a club), left the club. The East Westphalia started the new second division season with a home success against relegated Holstein Kiel thanks to the 2-1 winning goal of Bilbija in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
