Emergency services pulled out en masse on Tuesday evening after a report of a missing person at Egmond aan Zee. A man would have entered the sea just before a heavy rain shower and was no longer seen.
The search was set up on a large scale. The Rescue Brigade, KNRM, police and a trauma helicopter, among others, were deployed. In the end the man was found in the sea. He turned out to be unharmed and started surfing.
