Jack van Gelder was displayed for a summer by the makers of the Oranjezomer, but now that Hélène Hendriks is back at the head of the table, he is back again. A success? “Facts -free populist!”
The Oranjezomer is almost over: now that Hélène Hendriks has finally recovered from her back operation, the talk show has two weeks to go before Inside returns today. And that means that the comeback of Jack van Gelder is also of short duration of the Johan Derksen. How do you like his performance as a sidekick?
Saltless
Mark Koster, media solumnist of De Telegraaf, seems to long for the previous set of Thomas van Groningen and Raymond Mens, because he thinks that Hélène is very very surrounded by mature men.
The atmosphere at Hélène does not catch on with Mark. “Two elderly men made saltless sex jokes and an almost elderly folk singer without a voice turned out to be a jealous sour plum,” he writes in the newspaper.
Pity
With the latter, Mark refers to René Froger, who expressed his annoyance about new talents that immediately take 10,000 euros for a performance. The other gentlemen he refers to his jacket and the ever -fainting jokes Pieter Cobelens.
Mark thinks it is a sad couple: “I felt sorry for Hélène Hendriks. He was at the wrong birthday party.”
Fact -free
Jack in particular is a misunderstanding, says Mark. “Uncle Jack, who had not been invited to parties for a while, turned out to have become an even larger caricature than he already was. He started about the size of his gender and again spent facts free of charge.”
Jack’s right talks also disturb him. According to the opinion maker, the word ‘asylum’ only appears on page 62 in the VVD election program. “That was populism, because on page 2 you can read the following,” said Mark, who then quotes a passage over the asylum intake.
He concludes: “Clearly a case of clock, clapper and people.
