In search of a temporary replacement for Valentin Gendrey, TSG Hoffenheim relies on the experience factor. The Sinsheimers have signed the 32 -year -old right -back Vladimír Coufal and equipped it with a contract for a season.
According to Coufal’s end of the contract at West Ham United, a transfer is not due. With a market value of 5 million euros, he was one of the most valuable club -free players. Among other things, the Czech looks back on 147 games in the Premier League and 173 games in the domestic chance. Internationally, he also collected many missions with 36 in the Europa League, nine in the Conference League and six in the Champions League. He ran 55 times for the Czech national team.
The Hoffenheimers react to the violation of Gendrey, which will be missing at least until the end of the year after a syndesmosis tape tear and a break of the outer ankle. Finally, Louis Patris (24) from VV St. Truiden, Bryan Reynolds (24) from KVC Westerlo and Ognjen Mimovic (20) from Fenerbahce were also traded for the back to the back. The choice fell on Coufal, which is the sixth Czech in the history of the club. With Adam Hlozek and Robin Hranac, two compatriots are currently part of the squad.

“After the serious injury and the long -term failure of Valentin Gendrey, we had to work again on the transfer market to take responsibility for the position of the right -back for the coming season. With Vladimír, we hire a player who fits into the profile and can immediately close the gap,” said sports director Andreas Schicker. “Vladimír is an experienced national player and played in the English Premier League. Because of his experience, he will hardly need some familiarization with us in the Bundesliga. We are convinced that he is ideally complemented by our team with its excellent mentality and individual quality in the coming season.”
Coufal said: “After my years in England at West Ham United, I’m looking forward to a new challenge in the German Bundesliga again. The conversations with the TSG were all excellent and for this reason I didn’t have to think long. I am convinced that the team has great potential, and I want to help as a team to achieve our goals in the coming season.”
