Mlada Boleslav’s new battery proposal brings an interesting recipe to the table, summarizing the premises of the successful Kodiaq in a more compact format but without sacrificing the space on board. We tried it in the “60 Sportline” version

Or “simply intelligent“A concept behind the operations of the Czech house, not only for delicious solutions such as the umbrellas integrated in the doors or the scraper in the tank cap, but also in the ideation of the models that make up the range. And the new Elroq well embodies this spirit: mutual from one of the most successful electrical cars in Europe, the Skoda Enyaqmechanics, engines and interiors, but proposes them in a more compact format, “cutting” 15 centimeters in length and a few thousand euros in the price list. Skoda Elroq, the outsiders

As mentioned, the Skoda Elroq was born to “synthesize” the successful formula of the SUV Elyaq with minor dimensions. And this is very evident by observing the two cars from the outside: The step is identical, 277 cmwhile the rear overhang is shortly shortened, without removing a centimeter of space from the occupants of the rear row, neither for the legs nor for the heads. In alternating current, however, it is possible to recharge at a maximum power of 11 kW. On a technical level, we find suspensions with McPherson scheme at the front and multilink to five levers at the rear, and and technology can be added DCC for the adjustment of the shock absorbers response on several levels. The weight is equal to 1,903 kg.

Skoda Elroq, the interiors

Skoda Elroq, technology

At the center of the dashboard stands a 13 “floating infotainment displaywith internal graphics and operating logical with a strong “Skoda taste”. Modern shapes, bright colors and light icons help in navigation between the menus, sufficiently intuitive already in the first uses. Here almost all the functions of the car are centralized, from air conditionermanaged with an effective interface, to the adjustment of the volume via the touched soundbar. Compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, is supported by one digital instrumentation with rather small dimensions, which only reports the essential. On request, a Head-up display.

Skoda Elroq, as it goes

At the wheel the Elroq was a pleasant surprise. The soul is that of a spacious family car, but on the road it stands out for a good prowess and a solid balance. The calibration of the progressive steering is effective, which in maneuver reduces the steering radius in a perceptible way, while at the most supported gaits maintains a discreet directionality, despite having naturally soft feedback. In general, the feeling is that of one Stable and well anchored car to the asphalthowever capable at the same time to guarantee a level of comfort rather than appropriate to the type of car. Skoda Elroq, consumption

The manufacturer declares for Elroq 60 Sportline an average electricity consumption in the order of 15.8 kWh/100 km and oneautonomy of 429 km. In our test, held in the summer season on a path including urban, extra -urban and highway traits, we have overall detected an average consumption of 17.8 kWh/100 kmwhich therefore corresponds to a theoretical level to an overall autonomy in the order of 331 km. Good efficiency in the urban area and constant gaits, while the highway is quite penalizing for travel. Here in particular we have recorded a consumption of 21-22 kWh/100 km. For those who are often found between one toll booth and another, therefore, it is better to orient themselves on the Elroq 85, which on the motorway boasts more generous travel and also greater efficiency. To help to estimate theautonomy Waiting based on the march conditions (season, number of occupants, type of road, driving style and temperature) there is also a portal developed directly by Skoda. For the Skoda Elroq 60 Sportline, for example, outside the city, in “Normal” driving mode and with two occupants, a range of 378 km is estimated, while in similar conditions, but in winter, it drops to 274 km.

Skoda Elroq, prices and fittings

The list price of the Skoda Elroq 60 Sportline starts from 41,350 euros. Figure that can grow by drawing from the list of options, including a rose of additional equipment packages on several levels. Precious:
