How to drive without problems, now even at 16 with the ‘license’, the funniest nautical medium for anti -anxiety. But also the one subject to the most stringent regulations

August 2 – 12:39 – MILAN

Summer is also synonymous with water motion. Term that contains two great types of means: ski and runabout that differ in size and number of passengers. The first, designed to be used by a single person, is characterized by small dimensions and by the standing guide, which requires athletic preparation and a good balance on strong speeds. The second, larger and more widespread, is designed to be guided by seated and can transport up to 3 people. To all water bikes, it is allowed to navigate exclusively in daytime hours and with favorable insured marine weather conditions, at a distance of over 500 meters from the beaches and over 300 meters from the peak coasts. Having said that, it always makes sense to inquire about the local port authority because beyond having to stick to these general rules, there are situations that change according to the type of coast. To understand each other, it is easy that the minimum distance, prescribed by the legislation, is greater in front of bathing establishments and minor in front of cliffs. Two prohibitions, on the other hand, are valid throughout the territory: you cannot move away to more than 1 mile from the coast and you cannot navigate on the days of 14, 15 and 16 August.

Beware of the Alaggi

Let’s see other situations where the driver must be careful in order not to risk penalties. The launching, hauling, departure and landing is allowed only by ports, where existing structures are specially intended for the purpose or ‘launching corridors’ that delimit the water mirrors for the landing and departure of the boats in the bathing establishments: in no case is the water motorcycle motorcycles to cross the areas reserved for bathers, not even to the engine off. Then we must not navigate in the context of ports and channels, except for the arrival or departure and to reach the fuel distribution systems as it is forbidden to navigate in the watercolor mirrors banned to bathing for hygiene-sanitary reasons. The vehicles cannot be left, both in daytime and night hours, outside the appropriate areas intended and it is forbidden to keep fuel deposits as well as supply outside the stations. The legislation also prevents it from carrying out its maintenance and/or washing works with lubricating oils, detergents or other potentially polluting products. As for water motorcycles, they must be compulsorily equipped with an automatic return accelerator, as well as a device on the ignition circuit that ensures the arrest of the engine in the event of a pilot’s fall and this device must be installed on the boat in a clearly visible way. A remote controlled shutdown device is mandatory, whose useful distance is not less than 300 meters from the coast. Finally, it seems obvious but it is not, it is not possible to tow the water bikes on the shoreline and beaches with the help of trolleys driven by mechanical means. These operations can only be carried out in the specially equipped areas, with perpendicular crossing to the shoreline, adequately reported to make it known and visible to all the users of the beach.

From 600 to 800 euros

The introduction of the D1 license, what has been called the ‘license’ has changed the rules for water motorcycles. In summary, for the first time, the sixteen -year -olds will be able to conduct, within the day and within 6 miles from the coast the boats (i.e. the units that do not exceed in ten meters in length) and precisely the water bikes up to a mile from the coast. The maximum power limit is set at 85 kW (115.6 hp) while to guide them without the limitations provided by the D1, category A nautical license is required, for which the minimum age is 18 years. The driving license can be achieved by attending a training course in nautical schools which consists of a theoretical teaching phase, one of individual practical exercises and overcoming a test test of final suitability. Theoretical teaching lasts at least five hours, organized with frontal lectures with compulsory attendance in the presence, lasting no more than two hours a day. Individual practical exercises last at least five non -consecutive hours. As for the car license, it is also possible to take the exam test as private individuals at the civil motorization offices by presenting a certificate of carrying out the compulsory practical exercises. The cost of the ‘license’, we have verified it at various nautical schools, ranges from 600 to 800 euros. For the record, the sanction scheduled for those who are surprised to drive without a license ranges from a minimum of 2,100 euros up to a maximum of 8,263 euros.
