What does Augustus look like for Zoetermeer? Are the showers hanging, or can the sunglasses finally get on again? Berend van Straaten, meteorologist at Weeronline.nl, tells us: “Quite soon in August a weather change is on the program and it gets a lot warmer.”

Before we will make the terraces unsafe again in short pants and dresses again, we first have to bite. According to Berend, the start of Augustus does not look too rosy.
Umbrella in the attack
Let the umbrellas stand in the hallway, because showers are regularly expected in the coming period. Berend says: “In the first week of August, large -scale precipitation areas seem to be drawn over our country. That means that it can rain a lot every now and then.” In addition, it sometimes blows firmly and there is even a small chance of a storm.
Sun rays in prospect
From the second week of August it will be a lot drier and warmer. “The precipitation opportunities are declining quickly and the sun also seems to be shining more often. The chance of summer temperatures of 25 degrees or higher also increases,” says Berend.
Tropical warmth

For those who are celebrating your holiday in their own country, there is good news: “In the second half of August, there is a good chance that the wind will blow from the south. As a result, warm air from southern Europe can reach us, which ensures higher temperatures than normal.” It can even become tropical warm in summer.
Until then we have to go through the changeable weather and the sturdy wind in Zoetermeer. But keep up: before you know it, exchange your wind jacket for sunscreen and a fresh lemonade on the terrace!
