The 1st FC Köln won its friendly at Siegburger SV with 7-0. Then Lukas Kwasniok spoke about the next new addition.
Lukas Kwasniok didn’t talk long around the hot porridge. When he was addressed to Marius Bülter on Wednesday evening after the test game at Siegburger SV, the coach of the 1. FC Köln did not even try with secrecy. The sparrows have long since whistled from the roofs that Bülter will move from TSG Hoffenheim to Cologne. Already on Thursday, the attacker is expected for the mandatory medical check.
“Things have not yet been finalized, we are not that far,” said Kwasniok, but: “Sure, there is a certain trend”. This tendency is that Bülter, who will cost FC less than a million euros, will sign a contract at the Geißbockheim by 2027 including the option to another season.
Kwasniok was enthusiastic about the deal. “If that comes about, we can all look forward to it,” he said in Siegburg and explained why he absolutely wants to have Bülter in his team: “That the player is interesting for us, despite his 32 years, simply related to the fact that he is hungry. The smallest common denominator with us is hungry.”
The soon -to -Cologne striker is a late over -the -manner. “Marius is only five years of first division professional. It is something special for him to be able to play for 50,000 people,” says Kwasniok, who also appreciates the flexibility of the offensive player: “He can play all positions at the front, has a physical presence and depth,” the coach also listed the advantages of Bülter and came to the summary: “That is something we wanted.”
At the test game in Siegburg, FC scored seven goals even without a Bülter. Linton Maina (9th minute), Ragnar Ache (42.), Timo Hübers (51st), double packer Luca Waldschmidt (70./76.), Imad Rondic (71.) and Isak Johannesson (87th) ensured that the “Geißböcken” was very successful in the fourth test game under Kwasniok.
The result was rather irrelevant. The main actor of this evening was not on the pitch, but on the sidelines: Wolfgang Overath. The FC had given its club legend this game for the 80th birthday. The income from the encounter of the only two clubs, for which the world champion of 1974 ever played, hiking into the non-profit Wolfgang-overath fund. The symbolic impetus in the 81-year-old also died in the 5,000 spectator Walter-Mundorf Stadium.
“Summarum was a great experience for people here and a good test for us, a good training session,” FC coach Kwasniok took a satisfied conclusion, certified his team a “big step” compared to the first preparatory duels. The next steps will then take place together with Neu access Bülter.
