It has been 35 years ago that the second part of the horror comedy “Gremlins” has been published. There has been speculation for a long time, but now it should be almost as far: only Steven Spielberg still has to release the script.
Zach Galligan comments at Comic Con
At the comic con in Manchester, Zach Galligan commented on the rumors. He played Billy Peltzer in the first two films. According to “Gamesradar”, he announced that the script only needs Steven Spielberg’s “yes”. “After 35 years they finally completed a script. Warner Bros. is incredibly interested in realizing the project and apparently waiting for Mr. Spielberg to read and approved it,” he said there.
Apparently the success of the new film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” played a major role-as did the success of the “Minecraft” film, said the actor. Apparently Warner Bros. now wants to realize films about iconic brands.
“Gremlins 3”: Continued instead of remake
The new film should not be a remake, but a real sequel. Chris Columbus-director of the first two “Harry Potter” films-should direct. Warner Bros. already announced this in April 2024. “We are totally thrilled that Amblin, together with Chris Columbus, is developing new films for the franchises gremlins and goonies,” said Pam Abdy, co-chair and CEO of Warner Bros.
