A damper for the staff of ice cream parlor La Bella Vita in Waalwijk: the tip jar was stolen on Sunday afternoon. Owner Iwan Aerts shares the theft on social media and is clearly unhappy about the promotion. According to him, the perpetrator is recognizable on camera images and in the message he threatens to make the images public if the perpetrator does not quickly report.

Aerts also indicates that he has already shared the images with the police. “I find it especially annoying for the girls,” he said on Monday. “Of course we ensure that they still get the money, but this is just an absurd action.”

On the message that Aerts posted on social media, many reactions soon came on Sunday evening. Customers respond indignantly and find the behavior of the perpetrator ‘too sad for words’. Some believe that Aerts should ‘make it public’ the camera images immediately.

Waiting for privacy settings …

In addition to anger, there is also a lot of compassion. A man calls the incident ‘sad’ and spontaneously offers to make a donation for a new tip jar. The owner says he is very impressed with all the responses.

Incidentally, this is not the first time that something like that happens to him. In 2022 a flower box on the terrace was turned over by strangers, after which the terrace was littered with potting soil. Aerts posted a photo of the havoc on Facebook and there were also many indignant responses at that time.

The thief of the tip jar has not reported on Monday afternoon.
