Former F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen43, on Tuesday, published a nostalgic image on social media, posing wearing the 2009 McLaren driving suit.
In the caption, Kovalainen said he was heading to the Span F1 weekend with the Viaplay team.
-I’m going to SPAN F1 weekend with Viaplay and we’re doing something fun over the weekend. I fitted the 2009 McLaren rider and it still sits like a glove, Kovalainen wrote.
The picture also quickly received attention from old rivals. Ex-teammate Lewis Hamilton Comment to the picture concisely, “It still fits.”
In Viaplay’s X account, Kovalainen revealed why the legendary dress was involved.

Kovalainen drove in formulas between 2007 and 2013. He made his debut at the Renault stable in 2007, but the biggest attention came the following year when he moved to McLaren to drive Lewis Hamilton as a teammate. Kovalainen won the Hungarian GP in 2008 and remained the only race in his F1 career.
After McLaren years, Kovalainen continued his career in smaller stables such as Lotus Racing and later at Caterham.
His last F1 race was driven in Lotus’s colors in 2013 when he struck the injured Kimi from Räikkö in two races.
