Thanks to a new scheme, small music stages and festivals can get money to make local artists perform. Poppunt Drenthe has set up a fund together with the Cultuurfonds Drenthe. This means that the pop umbrella of the province hopes to get more play areas for Drenthe musicians.
The new Music Support Drenthe scheme is a small fund intended for small music stages and festivals that local artists want to book. A total of 15,000 euros is available and up to 125 euros can be requested for a performance.
Anyone who wants to organize something in Pop music in Drenthe can apply to Music Support. The most important conditions are that the artists come from Drenthe and play their own work. Any amounts granted are intended for the gage of the artists.
The scheme is based on the Friesland Pop of the same name, of which has been used eagerly for several years and which has already created many new play areas.
Another condition is that the organization does not already receive a subsidy for its program through other channels. With the scheme, Poppunt Drenthe wants to encourage parties that hardly receive any funds to book Drents talent. The application can be made via the website of Poppunt Drenthe.
