Mundpropaganda as a decisive factor
Gunn explains that the film is clearly better in the USA than abroad, but also on weekdays there is increasing spectators: in the inside, in a similar way to the home market. “Obviously, word of mouth is very positive here and everywhere else. And that is what we need the most,” he comments on “Rolling Stone”.
Different success according to regions
The film is particularly well received in countries such as Brazil and the United Kingdom. Nevertheless, Superman is not as well known in certain regions as other heroes and therefore less present. “He is not as well -known superhero in some places as Batman. That affects things,” says Gunn. In addition, the current political mood also plays a role. “It also affects that we have a certain anti-American mood in the world at the moment. That doesn’t really help us.”
Overall, however, positive results “Superman”
Despite these factors, the director draws a positive intermediate conclusion. He sees the previous figures for the new “Superman” as a complete success. “The fact that the film comes out and is accepted everywhere is only the seed of the tree, the Peter [Safran] And I have cast in the past three years. It is incredibly overwhelming that the start is so positive, ”he explains.
New section for DC studios

Compared to the daily newspaper “The Times” from the United Kingdom, the director recently described the figure Superman as a kind of story of America: “An immigrant who came from other countries and populated the country, but for me it is above all a story that shows that fundamental human friendliness is a value and something we have lost.”
