What exactly is the ISTAF again?
The International Stadium Festival (ISTAF) is a traditional athletics meeting that was first held in 1921. Traditionally, it has been taking place in the Berlin Olympic Stadium with a few exceptions since 1955. The ISTAF is one of the largest one-day meetings worldwide and was framework for 15 world records in the course of its history.
When does the ISTAF 2025 take place?
The ISTAF will take place on July 27th because of the late World Athletics World Championships (September 13th to 21st September in Tokyo) and thus a week before the German Championships in Dresden. In the coming year, the ISTAF will move back to August 30th. The main program of this year’s edition begins at 1:45 p.m. and lasts until 5 p.m.

What disciplines will there be?
16 disciplines are planned. These include the running competitions over 100 m or 110 m hurdles, 400 m hurdles, 800 m, 1,500 m and 2,000 m obstacle. Technical competitions such as shot put, javelin throw, long, three and pole vault are also part of the event. Para competitions also take place in the sprint and shot put.
The “ISTAF Schools Cup” brings student relays to the train, and a special Olympics competition is also planned: the pendulum relay, in which 10 to 14-year-old students from Berlin special schools compete. A precise schedule with all competitions can be found on the ISTAF homepage [istaf.de].
What stars are there?
Last but not least, the German aces are supposed to attract spectators this year. Cash push Olympic champion Yemisi Ogunleye, long jump-ace Malaika Mihambo, sprint star Gina Lückenkemper and javelin thrower Julian Weber, have been number one in the world so far this year. A total of 200 athletes from around 45 countries are expected.
What do the tickets cost?
The tickets are available both online and on the daily health insurance companies open from 10:30 a.m. at the Olympic Stadium. Depending on the seat category, the ticket prices are between 13 and 48 euros. Children up to three years receive free admission without a seat claim. Children up to the age of twelve need their own ticket, but receive a 50 percent discount.

There are also discounts for groups: ten percent of ten percent, 40 percent of 25 people. Tickets for wheelchair users can only be booked on 030/301118630 via the ticket hotline and contain a ticket for an accompanying person. The organizers expect around 30,000 spectators.
What else is offered to the audience?

Who transfers the ISTAF?
The ISTAF will be broadcast from 12 p.m. in the ZDF live stream. On linear television, the broadcaster broadcasts from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.
