Third division club Alemannia Aachen announced around two months after the separation from Sascha Eller to structurally reorganize himself at the top of the club. Rachid Azzouzi, long-time sports director at SpVgg Greuther Fürth, takes over the new position of the sports manager. The 54-year-old will be responsible for the management, transfers and strategic orientation of the license and young talent. A commercial managing director should be provided to him, which will be announced shortly.

“I am very much looking forward to taking up my work at Alemannia on August 1st,” said Azzouzi on Friday. “As a child of the region, I know what radiance and what potential in the club. It is our clear goal to build sustainable structures that enable sporting success.” The young talent is particularly important to him. “Young players should have a real perspective again at Alemannia and make the leap into professional football here in Aachen.”

Supervisory Council leader Ralph Gillessen said: “On the Supervisory Board, we decided unanimously to dissolve the personnel union of the managing director and sports director and to give the leadership of two managing directors with a clear understanding.

The Alemannia with squad planner Erdal Celik has hired eight players to striker Kwasi Wriedt (30) this season, which faces 16 departures (for the Aachen transfer overview). There are currently 24 players in the squad. In addition, the club had to collect the departure of coach Heiner Backhaus to Eintracht Braunschweig. Benedetto MuzziCato took over from the promotion coach.
