The Outdoor outfitter Schöffel Sport, based in Schwabmünchen, announced the appointment of Peter Jud as CEO on Wednesday. The 57-year-old will take over his new post on August 1st, according to a message. He succeeds Stefan Merkt, who had resigned in spring. In the meantime, Jakob Schöffel, the managing partner of the Schöffel Group, had temporarily headed Schöffel Sportschleid GmbH.
The designated CEO has been with Schöffel since 2008. So far, judge was managing director of the subsidiary Schöffel Switzerland AG. He will also keep this function after his now announced promotion. “In the future, he will be supported by Karin Höpli and Nadine Fusco for the operational support in daily control, who have been working for Schöffel Switzerland for many years,” said the company.
Jakob Schöffel explained the personnel decision: “I have known Peter for many years – as a reliable partner, as a strategic head and as someone who has deeply internalized our brand. He knows our structures, the team and our orientation,” he said in a statement. “This, paired with its understanding of the market, foresight and wealth of experience, is the optimal prerequisite for further developing Schöffel Sport. I am very happy to design this next phase with him.”
