Hepseii dragged Olympic titles into both the 5 and 10 kilometers. After his gold slice in the 5000 meters during the Tokyo Olympic Games (2021), he finished first in the 10,000 meters in Paris last year. He is a triple world champion in the 10 kilometers.
During the first marathon in the first marathon, in 2023 in Valencia, he noted a time of 2.08.59. Last March he improved this time at his second marathon in Tokyo (2.05.59).
The TCS Amsterdam Marathon takes place on October 19 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, in the same year that the city has been around for 750 years. Sifan Hassan, the best Dutch marathon runner, is not present and runs in Sydney instead.
