Ozzy Osbourne was 62 years old when he had his first and only appearance at Wacken Open Air in 2011. He was the headliner of the traditional “Night to Remember” there and it was his only festival gig in Germany that year.

After the concert, some said that they had seen an old man there on stage, who sometimes seemed confused and treated themselves to a longer break in the meantime to just let his colleagues do their thing.

But eyewitnesses also report that they experienced the singer more agile when they had imagined it before. Osbourne sometimes hopped over the stage like a small child.

Ozzy Osbourne as a confused but charming entertainer

In 90 minutes there was “War Pigs”, “Iron Man”, “Crazy Train”, “Suicide Solution”, “Mr. Crowley”, “Road to Nowhere”, “Mama I’m Coming Home” and other ozzy hits. “Paranoid” formed the end.

Because there was no video show and fireworks-and Osbourne only did what he has always done-then some fans grumbled. They later spoke friendly-tricks of a “nostalgic appearance”.

If it hadn’t been the foam cannon that Ozzy got out of one moment to the other. That was nothing new now, but how he first insisted and then the audience in the first rows (additionally supported later with buckets full of water from outside), had his own charm.

To date, many have wondered what the singer poured into himself again and again during the gig, as there were several bottles and glasses on stage with an “indefinable liquid”, as it is said in a concert friction of the “world”.

After such a playful to routine appearance, many of course would have liked to see another Wacken concert by Ozzy Osbourne. Now you only have the memory of the change of a hard rocker to the entertainer.
