Marco Borsato breaks silence in the judge in three months. According to Evert Santegoeds, something awaits us that in terms of media attention ‘is’ bigger than Thijs Römer and Ali B together’.

It has been almost four years since Marco Borsato became discredited for serious allegations. The singer is suspected of fornication with a minor girl, the daughter of a woman who was closely involved in his fan club. For a long time it remained quiet, but in three months the criminal proceedings will start. What really happened?

Small girls

Private boss Evert Santegoeds will report on it in detail. “You can’t really prepare for it, because both parties say nothing and the identity of the victim and the mother is still kept secret by the media. Those people are not going to tell their story suddenly after four years,” he says in the podcast Strictly private.

“That has also been the choice of Marco Borsato, not to fade his powder either. I can imagine that he tends to call very loudly off the roofs:” I didn’t do that. You can say everything about me, I cheated on, but I didn’t sit to little girls. “

Out of his mouth

Marco never did that. “He has chosen to say that only once in the first press release that was there and never to repeat it. People really want to hear it once from his mouth, but we will really have to wait for the courtroom.”

He continues: “As a press you can only go there, if you sign up on time at least because the interest is huge. There is not much to do in advance.”

Large spectacle

It will be a mega media circus, says Evert. “Yes, just count. Thijs Römer and Ali B are not in the way.”

Yet that media storm does not mean that it will be a spectacle without content, he says. “No, if the right-hand president keeps order, and he will certainly do that, then it will just be a very serious treatment for a case that only has a lot of interest, despite the parliamentary election that have to be done by.”
