In the museum the story of the Battle of Passendale during WWI is brought very nicely. The museum is also in the middle of ‘t Slagveld, so you also feel history up close. We chose a visit with Audiogids, because we can walk through the museum at our own pace.
Throughout the visit we pass scenes from that time, we walk in the Dugout where that grim war atmosphere is still hanging and we can even walk through trenches. You really get a glimpse into how everything went during WWI in Passendale.
It became a fascinating visit where we both learned a lot and also – and that almost a miracle – both were very quiet. A nice start to a nice Getaway with our mom, that’s for sure. I also saw a fun activity for tomorrow … Hopefully Mama will find that too!
