The contact with the neighbors is good to say the panters. “We have already done a lot of coffee with them. They are very sweet. They are quite welcoming. Some of course were a bit skimmed in the beginning, because it is quite a hassle in the street. It is a very close -knit neighborhood we already notice, and we hope that we can be part of that. For us, mutual respect and understanding are not very important.”
Anonymously
Although the squatters in the neighborhood are very open, they prefer to stay anonymous in front of the camera. “That is mainly due to safety. I don’t want to walk in the supermarket and that someone then recognizes me from AT5. Someone who has no respect and understanding for it. Unfortunately you have that too. So because of our privacy and safety we prefer to stay anonymously on camera.”
EREN OF MARGO MINCO
As far as the squatters know, the owner of the building has not yet made a declaration. They hope to be able to stay a lot longer here than the two weeks in the cracked building on the Singel. There are plenty of plans anyway. “We want to reduce the literary character in this building. In addition to creating a very nice living space for people, we also want to organize things for our community and for the neighborhood. Such as a poetry evening or a theater piece, or showing documentaries. To honor Marga Minco a little, and to give something back to the neighborhood.”
