In Baarn, hundreds of people said goodbye to 19-year-old Simo van Barneveld on Saturday. The resident of this place died last Friday at a traffic accident in Eindhoven.
Simo sat on a bike that was scooped by a car when crossing the Kanaaldijk-Zuid. A 22-year-old from Eindhoven who was also on the bike was slightly injured.
The accident happened near the place where both were present just before at the anniversary party of the local rowing club Esr Thêta.
Procession from the house
More than four hundred people were committed to Geerenweg in Baarn on Saturday morning, where the funeral procession passed Simo, so RTV Utrecht reports. He was taken from his home to an estate where the farewell service would take place.
People who wanted to support the relatives had asked local residents to form a hedge of white light with paper hearts and balloons. The Dutch flag was also requested to hang half -mast.
Member Football Club for years
In the clubhouse of SV Baarn, the farewell could then be followed via a live stream. Simo was a member of this football club for years.
Simo’s football friends started an action to plant a memorial tree at the sports park as a lasting memory.
