“Last season hoped differently”

The cadre change continues: SpVgg Fürth and Roberto Massimo are going separate paths. The 24-year-old leaves the cloverleaf after a year and thus before his actual end of the contract in 2026 towards Poland. There, the variably usable right foot joins the first division club Górnik Zabrze, the club of world champion Lukas Podolski. Massimo came from VfB Stuttgart in 2024 and delivered three goals and six templates in 30 missions, but was only 19 times in the starting XI.
Fürth’s sports director Stephan Fürstner said: “Roberto came to the shamrot with a clear objective. Of course, he would like more playing time that we can not guarantee him in the new season. We spoke openly there and therefore came together to decide that an air change will be good for him. Massimo said: “I think it is clear that both the club and I hoped for the last season. So now I just want to do something new. I think it will be good for me to take this step now, although I felt very comfortable here at the clover in the team.
