Recommendations of the Editorial team

The main stage was burned three days before the Tomorrowland Festival opened. Shortly after the incident on Wednesday evening (July 16), the organizers announced that the festival will take place on Friday (July 18) as planned. Now announce: There is also a new main stage.

Two emergency plans in advance

The news follows another Instagram post of the organizers: inside from Thursday (July 17), in which they presented two emergency plans. “Scenario 1”, as they called it, has apparently occurred.

“Scenario 2” would have occurred if the festival could have “not opened with full visitor capacity”. In this case, the organizers “Dreamville and the festival site on Friday had operated two separate areas to ensure the security of all guests”. An existing stage would then have acted as a main stage for the main acts, and the visitors: Inside the Dreamville camp, no access to the festival site would have been given.

Festival takes place as planned

With its new main stage, Tomorrowland can take place in the Belgian city of Boom as usual on two weekends – from July 18 to 20 and from July 25th to 27th. Around 400,000 visitors from over 200 countries are expected. Appearance from hundreds of top international acts of the electronic music scene are planned on 16 stages-including Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, Eric Prydz, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Amelie Lens and Solomun. The festival is considered one of the largest of its kind worldwide.
