De Weekend puts Carlo Boszhard a painfully honest question about Irene Moors: what about her waning career, now that she only pops up in BN’er programs? “Not true!”
Carlo Boszhard and Irene Moors were one of the most famous duos of Dutch television for decades, but now we only see them separately. While Carlo talks to each other one after the other, Irene has disappeared considerably to the sidelines. The Weekend Carefully submit a painful question to him.
Other story
The weekend puts its finger on the sore spot: nowadays Irene can mainly be seen in candidate rolls, not as a presenter. “Fortunately, in terms of health, you go well at the age of 56, and also on a career surface,” the journalist of service begins.
Then: “What do you think is your strength, so you are still being asked for everything, while that is a different story for your former colleague and good friend Irene Moors?”
Jolly extra
Her much-discussed transfer to SBS 6 should have been the start of a glorious second TV youth, but it ended in a silent retreat. In 2025 Irene can still be spotted as a jolly extra in the spots of the VriendenLoterij or as a candidate in the perfect picture. She finally slipped to B or perhaps C level.
Carlo tries to laugh away, but has to respond. About the difference between them, he says: “That cannot be compared to each other at all … Irene is still on the tube, because she is now participating in the perfect picture, which she does fantastic. Of course I really want to do a program with Irene.”
TV duo
Ah, Carlo starts for the umpteenth time about a possible renewed duo shelter with Irene. “But then the right program must come. Moreover, there must be room for a time slot. It is not so much the program idea in this, because it will then just be Carlo and Irene again.”
What is it? Irene apparently is not exactly comfortable with RTL boss Peter van der Vorst. Otherwise that time slot had long been found, if necessary on Sunday afternoon between the repeat of the traitors and a culinary program with Roberta Pagnier. “Who knows, it will come. I see it sunny,” said Carlo.
Difference in success
Weekend continues to poke: “You are still open to do a TV program together?”
Carlo: “Absolutely, I hope so. Irene is the dearest.”
Weekend is out dirt: “But returning to the question: what do you think the difference is in terms of success with Irene Moors?”
Carlo: “That is not true. She is also asked.”
Very often no
Carlo visibly does his best to save the reputation of his TV sister. “She doesn’t have her own TV program now, but she also says no on many things. At some point Irene has decided that she also wants to work behind the scenes. And that is very successful: she now coaches presenters. She likes to do that.”
He concludes: “There should not be the idea that you are only holy if you are in front of the camera. I am also a producer and I really like to work behind the scenes. You can be very successful in that. Success in front of the camera is only one thing, believe me.”
