Rashee Rice has to go to prison! The Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver now has to answer to court after his illegal street race with accident sequence. A decision by the NFL on a lock is still pending.
As the Dallas County district prosecutor said, Rice owed himself to have committed two crimes. On the one hand, it is a collision with serious bodily harm, and on the other hand, a race on a country road with assault.
A judge from the Dallas district court then determined the punishment: Rashee Rice received a prison sentence of 30 days and five years on probation. He can compete for the 30 days behind bars during the five years at any period. Rice also paid $ 115,000 for the medical treatment of the accident victim.
As “ESPN” reporter Adam Scheftter reports, there is also good news. In the US legal system there is the so-called “deferred adjudication”, which means something like “exposed procedure” or “preliminary punishment”.
If Rice stays with all requirements in his five probation and serve his punishment, he is not officially convicted in the end, accordingly, he would not have an entry about a criminal record.

NFL decision is pending
In addition to the criminal judgment, however, the decision of the NFL is still pending. This, so much is clear, Rice still proves with a lock because he violates the rules of conduct of the league.
“We have followed all developments in this matter exactly that will continue to be checked,” NFL Vice President for Communication Brian McCarthy told Schefter.
While the Kansas City Chiefs did not want to comment on the topic, Rice spoke up on his lawyers. In a statement published on Thursday, Rice said that he is “deeply sorry that people and property have been damaged.”
“Last March I was involved in an accident at high speed in Dallas,” said Rice in his explanation. “There were many sleepless nights when I thought about the damage that caused my actions and I will continue to work in the context of my possibilities that everyone who is affected is compensated. I ask everyone to adhere to the speed limit, drive safely and not least cleverly. Innocent drivers and their families have added, “said the NFL star.
