The Calabrian company announces the restyling of the historic plant at the end of the championship: the interventions will concern the Curva Massimo Capraro and the coverage of the Tribune
There are economic resources (10 million euros) and the project put down by an architecture company that these things can do it (the Sportium). There is the will shared by the Municipal Administration and Catanzaro to create as little as possible inconvenience to team and fans. And now there is also a safer horizon for the redevelopment works of the Ceravolo stadium, “our temple” for President Floriano Noto. The interventions will leave at the end of the championship (“the next day”, underlined the mayor Fiorita) and will affect the Curva Massimo Capraro – the warmer Tifa – and the coverage of the tribune.

Thanks to the funds of the Region (9 million) and the PNRR (the remaining million), the Municipality and the club of the Noto president agreed the interventions to be performed on the basis of a larger Masterplan that the Sportium had always developed on Commission of Confindustria Catanzaro. The most important and expected (in the city has been talked about for at least 20 years) concerns Capraro, which will be demolished and reconstructed closest to the pitch, 10 meters from the bottom line, abandoning its “curve” structure for that of an English steps. This is perhaps the fastest operation of the two expected because reconstructing the coated steel goat should allow it to complete it by the beginning of the next tournament.
Away the pylons

In parallel, we will proceed with the elimination of the support pylons to the coverage of the tribune, which have nothing romantic (at least not like those of Highbury, the old and then destroyed plant of the Arsenal) and in every game they make the torching come, due to limited visibility, to dozens of spectators. The current coverage, dated over 50 years, will be demolished to install a new one. “We need to do well what we will realize and how we will make it,” added the first citizen explaining how, in the coming months, the executive project will be filed, the tender was banned, having found the materials and completed all the technical-burocratic procedures for the actual start of the construction site.
Postponement

The decision to postpone the works is linked to security and comfort issues, because making them during this championship, as had been hypothesized for a long time and would still be possible, would have involved problems of public order (the movement of the Capraro fans, the arrangement of those guests) and limitations to the Subscriptions campaign of the Catanzaro which starts on Friday 18 July. “It is the wisest solution,” said Noto, who also announced that he was advanced in the design of a property center (with six fields) in a neighboring municipality to the Calabrian capital.
