The Düsseldorf e-commerce group The Platform Group AG announced on Thursday that he completed the acquisition of a majority stake in April at the operating company of the French trading platform Joli Closet. Now the company wants to bundle its offers in the luxury second-hand area.

“As of August, the platform offers of fashionette, angle straat and chronext will be connected to Joli Closet. This will make the area of vintage luxury products to a significant expansion of sales at The Platform Group AG in the future,” said the group in one message. In the foreground of the “common platform activities” there are “in particular the areas of luxury watches, handbags and clothing”.

The company relies on the traction of sonorous names: “The strongest brands of the future platform connection are Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Christian Dior, Chanel and Hermès,” says a message. “It is also planned to significantly expand the optics area at Joli Closet, this with the brands Fendi, Loewe, D&G, Chanel and Prada.”

Frederic von Borries, the Chief Platform Officer (CPO) of the group of companies, explained the plans: “With the expansion of Joli Closet Paris, we strengthen our activities in the field of used luxury goods, a market with over 40 billion euros in volume,” he said in a statement. “In the future, we would like to increase the previous offer volume on the platform by at least 50 percent and to enable profitable platform sales together with fashionette, angle straat and chronext. In particular, the watch area and the optics division will achieve significant results in the future.”
