Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have in a new episode of their podcast “Imo With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson” about the persistent rumors about a possible divorce.
“She took back me!”
In the episode, the former president spoke on various topics. Among other things, that many people speculated about a possible separation after Michelle Barack had not accompanied Donald Trump in January.
“She took back me!” Joked Barack in the podcast. “It was delicate for a while.” “It is so nice to have both of you together in the same space,” replied Robinson, Michelle’s brother. Michelle added: “I know, because if we are not, people think that we are divorced.”
Robinson said that a woman at the airport asked him about the couple’s marriage. You asked him: “What did he do?”
“These are the things I just miss,” said Barack. “I don’t get it all of this and then someone tells me about it, and I wonder: what do you even talk about?”
Michelle confirmed that her marriage was doing completely well and replied: “There was no time in our marriage in which I would have thought of giving up my husband. And we had really difficult times and many good times, many adventures, and I have become a better person through the man with whom I was married.”
“People couldn’t believe that I say ‘no'”
This was not the first time that Michelle used her podcast as a platform to correct rumors about himself and the former president. At the beginning of this year she spoke in an episode of her decision to stay away from the inauguration.
“My decision to stay away from the inauguration – what people do not understand – or my decision to make decisions at the beginning of the year that suited me was taken with ridicule and criticism,” she said. “People couldn’t believe that I said ‘no’ for another reason, so they had to assume that my marriage was breaking.”
“We also have to invest in boys”
Elsewhere in the new episode, Barack spoke about the challenges of boy education and how important it is to support young men in their communities. “If you do not think about what happens to boys and how they are brought up, women can actually harm, and I would say that some of the broad political developments that we not only observe in this country, but worldwide, are related to the feeling that boys, men do not feel that they feel like not counting,” said Barack.
“This makes them more receptive to the messages of people who say: ‘Do you know what, the reason why you don’t feel respected is because women did this or that group.’ And that’s not a healthy place. “
He added: “We rightly tried to invest in girls to ensure that there are fair opportunities and that they are not excluded from opportunities. But I think we were not ready to invest in boys as well – and that was a mistake.”
