According to the newspaper, Felix Baumgartner (56) was killed on Thursday in Porto Sant’elpidio, an Italian seaside resort on the Adriatic Sea where he was on vacation.
The Austrian would have become unwell during paragliding, after which he crashed into a swimming pool. A woman was also injured in that impact. She is not in danger, but for Baumgartner all help came too late.
Historical Skydive
Baumgartner caused a stir by jumping from the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and ‘Skydiveed’ over the canal with a special wing. Baumgartner also broke through the sound barrier as the first person in free fall.
For the latter stunt, the man jumped at almost 39 kilometers from a space capsule under a helium balloon. He reached a speed of more than 1,340 kilometers per hour. During his fall it became exciting when Baumgartner started to turn around, but the Austrian finally managed to get everything back under control.
