THE HAGUE (ANP) – Last month, 3.8 percent of the labor force was without paid work, as much as in May and April. On average, the number of unemployed has fallen slightly over the past three months, by 3000 a month.

In June there were 386,000 unemployed. In addition, there were 3.2 million people who did not recently searched for work or were not immediately available for it. These are especially people who are retired or cannot work due to illness or disability. They are not included in the labor force. The number of people outside the workforce decreased on average over the past three months by 7000 a month.
Unemployment benefits
The number of people with paid work increased by an average of 5000 per month in the past three months. UWV benefits agency registered at the end of June 183,600 ongoing unemployment benefits. That is 3000 less than the month before. In June 19,100 benefits and 22,100 benefits were terminated.
The number of unemployment benefits decreased in almost all age groups. The strongest decrease in young people up to 25 years (minus 3.7 percent) and for 25 to 35-year-olds (minus 2.7 percent). In the age groups 35 to 45 years and 45 to 55 years, the number of benefits fell by 1.4 percent. The decrease was the smallest at 55 to 65-year-olds (minus 1.0 percent). Only for people over 65 did the number of unemployment benefits increased slightly (plus 0.2 percent).
